Didn't realize it's been so long since an update. Mom is back in the hospital with UTI on IV antibiotics. Been there since Sunday. She has taken a few steps backwards physically. Can't walk but a few steps with help.
On top of that her car broke down on the way to the hospital, the sewer has been stopped up again and just about everything has gone to hell in a handbasket, whatever that means! The car is being towed tomorrow. The sewer had to be dug up again by my brother and the plumber called again. Once again the caregivers had been putting those damn moistened wipes that I buy for their convenience in the toilet. We told them not to do that and also put a sign on them and they did it anyway. Well, they won't anymore because I removed them from the house. I should tell them that every time we have to call a plumber, we use more of Mom's money. When her money is gone, so are their JOBS!

Check to see if she is eligible (medicare paid) for more time maybe 30 days in nursing home with this hospital stay of 3 days or more. I may be wrong ...but there is something like that....Beth
I hope she is gaining strength everyday, you have been in my prayers.
I just looked it up and she needed to be out of a skilled nursing facility for 60 days for a new 100 day period to be paid for by medicare. Please ask someone who knows more than me....maybe the person at the skilled care facility she was in, they know so much about all this.
She could get more therapy to help her get or maintain the mobility she had. And they will take care of her medically also. Beth
